Dr. Sal Abbate

Hello, I am Dr. Abbate. I have owned my own practice in Florida for 30+ years. I practice small animal medicine, which is 99% dogs and cats and I have studied traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture II have a special interest in problems associated with skin and ears, and intestinal disturbances, causing vomiting and diarrhea. In addition to practicing full-time in a complete medical and surgical facility, I’ve had a lot of experience with veterinary telemedicine since the COVID pandemic, and I have consulted over 2000 client’s about their pets.

My background: I was born in New York and grew up mostly in Darien, Connecticut. I attended Michigan State University for two years of pre-vet classes, then transferred to Auburn University. I finished my bachelors degree, as well as post-graduate training in animal sciences, physiology and nutrition, and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1989.
