Dr. Rebecca Young was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Her love of animals was fostered at an early age while spending summers on the family cattle ranch. Her love of animals, science, and medicine led her to pursue a career in the veterinary field.
Dr. Young has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She began her career working in a mixed animal hospital treating a variety of species, but with a focus on dairy cow herd health and reproduction. After several years she shifted her interest to focus solely on companion animals. She has worked in many different small animal hospitals as both an associate veterinarian and a relief veterinarian.
Some of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are client communication and education. She will take the time to listen to your concerns and guide you to make decisions that are best for you, your pets, and your lifestyle. Her goal is to empower pet owners to feel comfortable and in control of their pet's health and wellbeing. The best part? She can offer you convenient care and guidance from the comfort of your own home! Less stress for you and your furry family members.
In her free time, Dr. Young loves to travel, cook, spend time with family, enjoy the great outdoors, and exercise with her two energetic and quirky dogs.
Please note that the Texas State Board does not allow veterinarians to diagnose or prescribe medications without having physically examined a patient in person at this time. Dr. Young can offer teleadvice and teletriage.
