About Vet

Hi folks, I am a seasoned veterinarian with over 35 years of experience. I owned and operated a very successful solo veterinary practice for 23 years. Since 2017 I have worked as a relief/contract veterinarian for large and small clinics as well as for a very busy emergency clinic since selling my practice. I am a proponent of combining the best of all medical perspectives and I tend to offer OTC and natural therapies as often as possible, and where applicable. My wife and I are parents of 6 and grandparents of 19.

This vet came across as a bit of a conspiracy theorist, telling me I shouldn't be using google as a search engine and the solution to my dog's GI problems was to feed them a diet with raw meat. The information may have merit, but it was delivered in a way that left me unconfident. The vet asked me no follow up questions and created a plan of care based on the information I had shared before our meeting.

My 3 year old cat stopped eating, I switched his food and he was good for another 2/3 weeks then stopped again. I have been feeding him tuna but knew there were some nutrients he was not getting. Dr. Christensen listened to my concerns, let me know that there are other options out there and recommended multiple avenues to find the one that is going to work for my Buzzer (cat). After only 2days of talking with him my cat is slowly starting to transition to a high omega 3 and digestive support food. This will be a slow transition but it will be worth it in the long run. Thank you Dr. Christensen
