Dr. Misty Schneider-Lutfiyya

Hi, I'm Dr. Schneider! I've been a veterinarian in Missouri for 12 years and graduated from the University of Missouri. I see dogs and cats full time as a general practitioner in a hospital setting with several other veterinarians and love it! However, I find the idea of telehealth interesting too. It's a great way to connect with pet parents outside of my full time job, and speak with pet owners where they are!

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ I am only licensed in Missouri. Missouri Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) laws do not allow veterinarians to diagnose or prescribe medications through a telehealth appointment. While I can't provide a diagnosis or provide prescriptions, sometimes there are over the counter options available to help in certain situations and sometimes pet parents just need guidance as to whether or not your furry friend needs further in-person care with your regular veterinarian or a specialist.

My favorite veterinary topics are preventive medicine (heartworm and other parasite prevention, vaccinations, etc.), parasitology, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, behavior and palliative or end-of-life care.

When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and our pets; we have 2 chocolate labs, Herbie and Monty, as well as a geriatric cat, Josie. My husband and I enjoy spending time with family and friends and we love to travel, go to musicals and attend sporting events.
