Dr. Lara Berland

Hello! I look forward to meeting you! A little about me: I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received my Bachelors of Science in Biology at the University of Minnesota. I’ve always had a love of travel, so ended up getting my Veterinary Degree from Ross University on the island of St Kitts in 2014. Afterwards, I returned to Milwaukee to complete a rigorous internship in small animal emergency and critical care medicine before transitioning into small animal general practice. In 2018 I moved onto a sailboat with my husband and dog Roger and we sailed down to the Caribbean. Since then I’ve been helping pets throughout the Eastern Caribbean islands, including at the veterinary teaching hospital of St George University in Grenada, the humane society of Antigua, am currently providing veterinary relief for the 501-c3 organization 'Floating Doctors' in Bocas del Toro, Panama.

My goal in these appointments is to give you the tools to manage your pet at home. Keep in mind that state law prevents online vets from being able to prescribe medications without an in-person patient relationship, but often there is a lot you can do for your pet without a prescription! I have a special interest in animal behavior, internal medicine, preventative care, and pet pain management, and I’m here to help answer any questions you may have about your pet.
