About Vet

Dr. Kathryn Papp (also frequently & fondly referred to as Dr. Kate) grew up around animals, competed on the equestrian hunter/jumper circuits and snuck home lots of strays😉 She has always had a passion for anything living, breathing and in need of care.

She knew definitively at a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian and dedicated herself to that goal early on.

Those who know Dr. Papp (FB public: Kathryn Papp, Kathryn Papp, DVM, Hillcrest Meadow Equine, PA Racehorse Rehoming - Twitter @kathrynpapp & IG @katepapp) most often describe her intellect, skills and insight as exceptional.

She attended The Peddie School in NJ, followed by the University of Vermont (BSc) - Class of 2003, graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (DVM) - University of Guelph (Guelph, Ontario, CAN) in 2008 then completed an internship split between private practice and the internal medicine service at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine teaching hospital (North Grafton, MA).

Dr. Papp has the knowledge, experience and understanding required to give owners an honest and accurate assessment of a patient's diagnosis, prognosis, expected abilities or limitations, along with recommended responsible care. She always puts the animals' well-being first, treating each and every one of her patients as if they are her own.

Dr. Kate’s family farm is located in Cream Ridge, NJ and is home to a wide variety of personal animals; young and old, farm animals to show horses, retired race horses, an amazon parrot, bearded dragon, adopted dogs, cats, sheep, goats...even a pet cow! It is NOT uncommon to see Dr. Papp driving around with a newly rescued animal in the back of her vehicle.

Her dedicated lifestyle keeps her updated on the latest treatments, surgeries, and therapies available in veterinary medicine. Her practice extends services to almost all species including, but not limited to: dogs, cats, small ruminants, farm animals, exotics and other domestic critters.

Dr. Kate is currently based primarily out of Ocala, FLorida but travels for work to PA and NJ as well. Her husband, Monti Neal Sims, is a third generation Thoroughbred race-horse trainer. His charm won her over in 2013, when she agreed to marry him (after requesting ALL of her animals' permission we assume). Monti is an exceptional horseman, animal lover and extremely accepting of the fact that their bed will forever be overflowing with numerous pets squeezing in, out and over them each evening.
