About Vet

Practicing medicine as a doctor since 2012, but providing veterinary medical care since 2001 as a veterinary technician first.

Since I was a little kid, I have always loved animals and helping those in need has always been a priority for me. I even started two nonprofit organizations as an adolescent and young adult to educate people on animal welfare topics and help rescue animals without homes.

I am originally from Puerto Rico, where I used to be a vet tech, and in 2008 I moved to the continental United States to pursue my lifelong goal of becoming a veterinarian. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine and began practicing general and emergency veterinary medicine in Las Vegas. In 2016, I transitioned into corporate veterinary medicine in San Diego, which later allowed me to relocate to Dallas, Texas.

In 2019, I fulfilled my vision of practicing boutique veterinary medicine by opening my own hospital. In less than six years, I received eleven ‘Best Veterinarian in DFW’ awards, an achievement that fills me with both pride and gratitude. In 2026, I decided to pursue a different path and explore telemedicine and other ways to help people and their pets.

Beyond my clinical work, I was also a regular columnist for a leading LGBTQ+ magazine in Texas. I have appeared as a veterinary expert on Univision, Telemundo, NBC, CBS, and Fox News. One of my most memorable opportunities was being featured in a national Bank of America commercial, where I shared my journey from humble beginnings to owning my own veterinary hospital.

I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to connect with a diverse range of clients and provide the best possible care for their pets. I believe careful listening and empathy are vital traits needed to be able to take care of my patients. I feel incredibly fortunate for the path I’ve taken and I will always strive to help pets and the families who love them. I am looking forward to meeting you soon!

PS: I am both a dog and cat lover! My favorite ones are mutts, chihuahuas, golden retrievers, pitties, and sphinx cats, BUT I love them all! I have a perfect, little chihuahua named Bentley Gadea. :)
