About Vet

Hello! I am Dr. Hipkiss, a veterinarian based out of Jacksonville, Florida, with a passion for caring for exotic, zoo, and aquatic animals. I trained in large animal medicine during my rotating internship at Iowa State University and continued with advanced training in anesthesia and zoological medicine at the University of Missouri. Over the years I’ve worked with an extensive variety of species, from farm animals to marine mammals, and I now would love to bring that experience to support pet owners through telehealth. I am currently licensed in the states of Missouri, Florida, and soon Georgia!

My approach is rooted in evidence-based medicine, but also in compassion and clear communication. I strive to provide thoughtful, practical medical advice that empowers owners, strengthens the bond they share with their animals, and ensures that every patient receives the highest standard of care possible. I look forward to supporting you and your companion every step of the way.

Wow, was very impressed with the convenience, as well as the care Dr. Hipkiss exhibited. I had a lot of anxiety about having to bring my cat to an in-person vet, and just needed a prescription for special food renewed. Decided to try this, and I am so glad I did.

Yes! I had a virtual visit for my Betta fish! And Dr. Hipkiss was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. She also followed up a couple of days later to check on him. I was very unsure if things were better, not really sure what to look for, and she was able to assess the picture I sent and indeed is optimistic that he is improving!
