- About Vet

I am a holistic veterinarian. I hold a New York veterinary license and help my patients virtually. I earned my veterinary degree (BVSc), then went on to complete a Master's in Veterinary Microbiology at the Ontario Veterinary College (University of Guelph) and a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (University of Saskatchewan). I've published peer reviewed research and hold a patent in vaccine development.
My focus today is helping owners understand what's actually driving their pet's health issues, not just the symptom in front of them. As a holistic vet, I look at the whole picture, especially nutrition, and how diet connects to skin, gut, and immune problems. If your pet's issue is one that keeps coming back, I'm a good vet to talk to. I founded RawChoice pet food in 2016, run The Pet Food Files on YouTube, and write about pet health at drghunaim.com.

Outside of work, I'm usually traveling, spending time with family, or smoking something low and slow in the backyard.
