About Vet

Hello pet parents! My name is Ericka Jaramillo. I was born in California but relocated to Florida early enough in my childhood that I consider myself more of an easterner. Like most (if not all) veterinarians, I have always wanted to be a veterinarian since I was a kid. I went to Ross University for vet school (the opportunity to live on an island was my second dream) and I completely my clinical year at Purdue University. After vet school, I went on to continue my education to become the best veterinarian I could be by enduring a year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Norwalk, CT. I spent an additional year working ER until my surgical internship in Texas. I was then offered a residency in small animal surgery in San Antonio, TX. I am currently a second-year surgery resident with a well rounded background in critical care, emergency medicine, and ,of course, surgical conditions.

I love helping pet parents understand their pets disease processes and working together in providing the best care possible to their fur family members. I have 2 fur kids (pitbull mix and a maltese) and 1 furless child (who tries to drink out of the water bowl). On my free time I enjoy all water activities, hiking, exploring different parks (nature and theme), and juggling a small child with a rambunctious pitbull everywhere we go.
