Dr. Chelsea Monroe was born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. From an early age, veterinary medicine was always her passion. She graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara where she graduated with honors with a double major in Psychology and Business Economics and then went on to the University of California San Diego to complete her Pre-Medical/Veterinary Requirements. She spent the next few years at the University of Sydney in Australia getting her Veterinary Medical degree before returning to Hawaii. Once back in the islands she started working as an associate Veterinarian at a small animal clinic on the island of Maui. Her interests include dermatology, animal behavior, and internal medicine. She spends her free time exploring the island and ocean with her husband and children and their dog Wall-e and maine coon cat Madmartigan.
Please note that the current stance of the Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association states that a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) must first be established by a physical exam. If no such relationship has been established then a Veterinarian in the state of Hawaii may only offer advice and guidance but cannot diagnose a disease or prescribe any medications via a telehealth appointment. These rules may change over time as they have in many other states across the USA.
