Dr. Cassandra Hurlbert graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 2010. She has been practicing in both the emergency and general practice settings ever since. This combination was the best way to start in veterinary medicine, managing the chaotic emergencies as well as routinely working in a general practice. Working in both environments lead to a well rounded base of information.
Dr. Hurlbert has also been in the military 10 years now, first as a Field Service Veterinary Officer in the Army Reserves and currently as a Public Health Officer in the Air National Guard. Numerous experiences have come from every setting and has widened her breadth of knowledge. Prior to veterinary school, she also played Division I Softball at Indiana State University which was an amazing experience.
Dr. Hurlbert is happily married with four children, many chickens, two dogs, and two cats. Her family enjoys quality time together, whether it's around their town or exploring the world. They enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, swimming, exploring creeks, as well as always learning. Being outside often and reading are two of her favorite things.
Dr. Hurlbert is great at communicating and is thorough and caring with her patients. She looks forward to meeting you and your furry loved ones.
