Dr. Carla Tabernilla Baum is a native of New Jersey, having grown up in Middletown, N.J., where she attended Middletown South High School until her graduation in 2004.
She then attended The College of New Jersey (“T.C.N.J.”), residing in Ewing, N.J., while earning a Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Spanish, graduating in 2008.
She was then admitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota, (ranked No. 10 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report), graduating in 2012 as salutatorian of her class.
She then joined Garden State Veterinary Specialists (“G.S.V.S.”) in Tinton Falls, N.J. on a rotating internship program, followed by a short period of time doing an internship at Blue Pearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Tampa, Florida, specializing in Cardiology in order to expand upon her knowledge and experience in Veterinary medicine.
Dr. Baum is a well-rounded Veterinary practitioner, including general practice, and emergency medicine. She is passionate in practicing in Cardiology and Dermatology, amongst many other specialty areas of Veterinary medicine.
She is affiliated with the A.V.M.A. and is a USDA Accredited Veterinarian, meaning that she has completed formal training from the National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP) in the state(s) they are licensed to practice medicine.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son, Frankie, and 3 pet cats and dog, in addition to her family and pets. She also enjoys reading good books, Netflix, as well as expanding her cooking abilities in the kitchen.
