About Vet

Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile and considering booking an appointment with me. I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from the Lincoln Science Focus Program (Zoo School). I became a full-time zookeeper as a 17 year old before I had even graduated high school. I had the pleasure of of taking care of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo's bird collection, but was cross trained and able to care for all of the other animals as well. After five years of zookeeping a sick flamingo showed me I was smart enough to attend veterinary school. I graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln/Iowa State University Cooperative Program in Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Since graduating vet school I taught veterinary students at UNL worked as a volunteer veterinarian at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, was an emergency veterinarian in Lincoln, NE as well as in Canton, and West Hartford Connecticut. I also practiced at a general veterinary practice in Presque Isle, Maine. I currently share my house with my husband, our two year old aliens (my parrots), two cats, a spoiled cattle dog, my service dog Dakota. Dakota was trained by Domesti-Pups in Lincoln. I currently run my own mobile veterinary clinic and serve on the board of directors for the For Birds Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit parrot rescue.

Dr. Riley was incredibly helpful with my dog Blossom who has recurrent UTIs and got one while we were away from our usual vet. A pet getting sick while traveling is never ideal, but she’s back on the mend.

Dr. Brittney was wonderful! She took time to really listen to my concerns and asked a lot of clarifying questions. She also explained her thinking as she eliminated potential issues. I really appreciated that I didn’t feel rushed, and that she took the time to make sure I was happy with our plan. Highly recommend!
