About Vet

Hi! I am Dr Renee Rember; I have been practicing veterinary medicine for 20 years in Alaska, Hawaii and Pennsylvania. I graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine and currently live in Alaska.

I have a wide range of medicine and surgery experience, primarily in dogs and cats, as well as a special interest in fish husbandry and health. I especially enjoy working with clients and their elderly patients, to navigate challenging, complicated, medical conditions, cancer, feline medicine and overall improving quality of life for our senior pets. I enjoy helping pet parents to maintain the best possible quality of life through their pets golden years and thus make a positive impact to their lives.

While the states I am licensed in legally prohibit the establishment of a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship without an in-person exam; I am able to provide Tele-health and Tele-advice services in my licensed states. This means I will work with you to listen, understand concerns, discuss possible causes or diagnoses, help to develop individualized management plans, I am happy to provide a second opinion or a deeper dive education on complicated conditions, lab work, pathology reports and imaging if available. I can help you determine how serious a condition may be and if you need to get to the emergency vet asap or can possibly wait to see your regular vet in a more convenient timeframe.

Due to legal regulations in place for Alaska, Hawaii and Pennsylvania, I can make over the counter recommendations through this platform, but I cannot prescribe medications without an existing in-person relationship with your pet. State regulations do not allow prescription medications without an in person examination.

Please make sure your pet is with you for the appointment.

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) is your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, plant or medication please call (888) 426-4435 before any other consultation to determine how serious the ingestion or exposure may be and thus streamline your pets care and potentially lifesaving treatments.  A consultation fee may apply.

I look forward to working with you to answer questions and help your pet!
