About Vet

I received my Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biomedical Science and Veterinary Science from Texas A&M University in 1991. I continued my education receiving a doctorate from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After graduation, I pursued a career in veterinary emergency and critical care before opening my own small-animal practice in 2001. I currently own a small animal practice in Houston, Texas that focuses on internal medicine, geriatric health care, soft tissue surgery, and preventative care for dogs and cats. I hold licenses in multiple states including Texas, Michigan, Virginia, Arizona, Vermont, New Jersey, and New York. I can approve prescriptions during an online appointment for Virginia, Arizona, New Jersey, and New York residents. In my spare time, I love to cook, eat Mexican Food, sip margaritas, and spend the afternoon at the park with my dogs. I have 2 dogs (Briar Patch and Kirvin) and 1 cat (Tater).

****Note: I do not prescribe anti-anxiety drugs, sedatives, tranquilizers or pain medications (like Trazadone, Amantadine, Gabapentin, Clonadine, Paraxetine, Fluoxetine, Acepromazine, Amitriptyline, Sileo, etc) on video appointments. If you are looking for these medications, please schedule with one of the other wonderful veterinarians on Vetster.

Dr. Banks was amazing and very helpful. We were able to discuss the treatment plan as well as what I can do at home while waiting for my medication to arrive.

In addition to all above in title, Dr Banks gave recommendations/suggestions, very specific descriptions, exactly what would definitely constitute an emergency, relayed national pharmacies that mail scripts. She was very easy to communicate with and understand.

Dr Banks spent the time to treat Kona as well as recommend other brands of supplements for her to take since she is not taking her current ones anymore to avoid getting a UTI! I would recommend Dr Banks to anyone! Thank you !
