About Vet

I received my Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biomedical Science and Veterinary Science from Texas A&M University in 1991. I continued my education receiving a doctorate from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After graduation, I pursued a career in veterinary emergency and critical care before opening my own small-animal practice in 2001. I currently own a small animal practice in Houston, Texas that focuses on internal medicine, geriatric health care, soft tissue surgery, and preventative care for dogs and cats. I hold licenses in multiple states including Texas, Michigan, Virginia, Arizona, Vermont, New Jersey, and New York. I can approve prescriptions during an online appointment for Virginia, Arizona, Vermont, New Jersey, and New York residents. In my spare time, I love to cook, eat Mexican Food, sip margaritas, and spend the afternoon at the park with my dogs. I have 2 dogs (Briar Patch and Kirvin) and 3 cats (Tater, Pewter, and Marshall).

****Note: I do not prescribe sedatives or pain medications (like Trazadone or Gabapentin) on video appointments. If you are looking for these medications, please schedule with one of the other wonderful veterinarians on Vetster.

Dr. Banks helped prescribe my cat medicine to help with a potential allergy or mite issue on a weekend when our vet was closed and it is difficult to make it to the emergency vet with small children.
