About Vet

I received my Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biomedical Science and Veterinary Science from Texas A&M University in 1991. I continued my education receiving a doctorate from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After graduation, I pursued a career in veterinary emergency and critical care before opening my own small-animal practice in 2001. I currently own a small animal practice in Houston, Texas that focuses on internal medicine, geriatric health care, soft tissue surgery, and preventative care for dogs and cats. I hold licenses in multiple states including Texas, Michigan, Virginia, Arizona, Vermont, New Jersey, and New York. I can approve prescriptions during an online appointment for Virginia, Arizona, New Jersey, and New York residents. In my spare time, I love to cook, eat Mexican Food, sip margaritas, and spend the afternoon at the park with my dogs. I have 2 dogs (Briar Patch and Kirvin) and 1 cat (Tater).

****Note: I do not prescribe anti-anxiety drugs, sedatives, tranquilizers or pain medications (like Trazadone, Amantadine, Gabapentin, Clonadine, Paraxetine, Fluoxetine, Acepromazine, Amitriptyline, Sileo, etc) on video appointments. If you are looking for these medications, please schedule with one of the other wonderful veterinarians on Vetster.

So much easier than trying to get a vet appointment and sending hours for something small.

I was hesitant because I have never used a telehealth for my dog, but I wanted to make sure I was seeing a professional since my regular vet was closed. Dr. Banks immediately put me at ease with her professionalism and her calm demeanor.. was very thorough and I can’t speak highly enough about her demeanor. She immediately put me at ease, even though my dog struggled with staying on camera and was able to assess her and prescribe appropriate meds. She gave me thorough instructions, additional information and appropriate follow up suggestions

My dog had all the symptoms of a UTI when I got home at 4:00pm. By 4:30pm, I was speaking with Dr. Banks. She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. By 5:30pm, I had picked up the medicines to treat the UTI. Super easy.

Dr. Banks was very helpful during our call! I have a senior dog and she was able to provide great recommendations. She was very kind and I could tell that she really cared about helping my 13 year old dog.
