About Vet

I am a board-certified avian medicine and surgery specialist with over 32 years of exclusive experience in avian, exotic pet, wildlife, and zoological species medicine and surgery. Based in Knoxville, TN, I am licensed in Tennessee and Virginia. I graduated from the University of Missouri in 1992 then completed a one-year internship in companion species medicine and surgery and a three-year residency in avian and zoological species medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM). Starting in 1996, I served on the UTCVM faculty, retiring as Professor Emeritus in 2022. I later worked as Director of Rehabilitation and Research at American Eagle Foundation (AEF) until August 2024, and now I am an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. I provide compassionate care and guidance for avian, reptilian, aquatic, and mammalian pets, as well as wildlife. Your pet's well-being is my top priority.
