Hello! I'm Dr. Helen Chen. I graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and then completed post-doctoral training in New York City (Schwarzman Animal Medical Center) and Calgary (Calgary Zoo). I am passionate about goal-oriented care and strongly believe that owner trust is rooted in a solid understanding of their pet's health, and as such I strive to ensure that owners walk away from appointments with a clear picture of all options they have before them. Empowerment leads to more informed decision making!
My training has given me a great background in high-level emergency medicine for dogs, cats, companion special species such as small mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. I have a particular soft spot for reptiles and amphibians, but have a deep and abiding love of critters of all shapes and sizes.
When I'm not working, you can find me out birding or herping, feeding greens to my guinea pig, or deep diving into a fun new video game.
