Dr. Alex Blutinger

Dr. Alex Blutinger is an emergency and critical care specialist. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015, followed by a medicine and surgery internship at BluePearl. He subsequently completed an intensive emergency and critical care residency at the Animal Medical Center (NYC) in 2019.

Currently practicing in the New York and Connecticut area, Dr. Blutinger combines his practical experience with a deeply rooted scientific approach. His commitment to staying at the forefront of veterinary medicine is supported by his active contributions to various journals and his role as the section editor for toxicology at Clinician's Brief and Plumbs. He also has a passion for teaching, and has training scores of interns and residents, and lectures at international veterinary conferences. Dr. Blutinger ensures that he not only keeps pace with the latest advancements but actively contributes to the collective knowledge within the veterinary community.

Dr. Blutinger sees all types of cases both in the hospital and on telehealth, including vomiting/diarrhea, urinary tract disease, toxicities, trauma, cardio-respiratory diseases, and general wellness/preventative care. His practical and scientific approach to each case takes into account both the needs of your pet and your own goals as a pet owner. In his spare time, he is an avid piano player and music producer. He enjoys traveling, surfing, and spending time with his golden retriever "Gemma".
