About Vet

I know how stressful it can be when your pet isn’t feeling well. My goal is to make access to veterinary care easier and less overwhelming for you. After graduating from veterinary school at The University of Florida, I have worked for over 13 years in both fast paced emergency medicine and general practice simultaneously, and currently serve as Medical Director at my general practice hospital.

I have helped pets through everything from sudden emergencies to management of chronic conditions. What I have learned is that the best outcomes happen when pet parents feel informed and supported. I am especially passionate about client education. I always take the time to explain what is going on and will walk you through the options so you feel confident in your decisions for your pet’s care.

While telehealth sometimes has its limitations and we may not always reach a definitive diagnosis during our visit, what I can promise to do is help outline the possibilities, guide you through next steps, and make sure you feel supported in making the best decisions for your beloved pet.

Dr. Onweller is wonderful! You can tell she loves animals first and being a vet has probably always been her calling. She addressed our needs for our fur baby and expressed her concerns. She was able to provide us with prescriptions and a follow up plan. She’s available via text if we have any further needs in this particular situation. We will definitely reach out in the future if need be!!! Thank you Dr. Onweller 😃

Dr. Kate Onweller was professional, helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. You can only do so much through a virtual appointment which I knew and she still took the time to explain. But, instead of doing nothing she still took the initiative to take care of my dogs eye drainage and looked up urgent care facilities around me to take him to! Awesome vet and highly recommend!!
