They primarily use locally sourced, in-season ingredients, with a desire to share a love of Nepalese cooking that the head chef, Chef Lama, has been enjoying since before he could walk. Located in the outdoor courtyard of the Detroit Shipping Company, dogs are allowed at all the outdoor tables.
Takoi got its start in 2014 as a simple food truck named KATOI. KATOI became a restaurant in March 2016 but was, unfortunately, the victim of arson in February 2017. That August, the rebuild brought KATOI back into the world as Takoi, and it’s been serving delicious pan-Asian cuisine ever since. Cork & Gabel is a unique fusion of Irish, Italian, and German cuisine. This from-scratch kitchen sources from a variety of Michigan vendors and local farmers to create its menu and also provides Michigan Craft Beef. It also prides itself on serving delicious comfort food in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. Visit Wednesday through Sunday and take advantage of the lovely patio seating for a great time with your dog.
4. Condado Tacos
Condado Tacos is a small group of restaurants, with locations in eight states, that offers high-quality Tex-Mex cuisine. The main draw of the restaurant is its Build-Your-Own Tacos, which offers proteins of your choice, toppings, and various options for shells, including hard shells, soft tortillas, and flavored shells. Plus, there’s also a great drinks menu, with plenty of emphasis on tequila and margaritas. There’s a small patio to the side of the restaurant where you and your dog can eat together.
