About Vet

Hello! It's nice to meet you! I'm Dr. Katherine Carter. I have been a small animal veterinarian for over 25 years. I am licensed in four states: Florida, Rhode Island, Maine, and Michigan. Previously I owned a practice in Maine, where I worked on not just dogs and cats, but also guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, ferrets, birds, and reptiles. In 2019 I sold my practice after 17 years and became a relief veterinarian. I travel to different clinics to provide my services on a temporary basis. Relief veterinarians are important, because as you may know, there is a nation-wide shortage of veterinarians. I have seen first-hand how difficult it can be to get a pet seen in person on an urgent or emergency basis. I enthusiastically believe telemedicine can help pet parents get through a tough spot, until they can get to their regular veterinarian. I am glad to be here for you and your pet, helping you bridge the gap between "NOW!" and "in a few days".
