About Vet

I am a Ohio State graduate who has been practicing veterinary medicine for 30 years. I have owned 3 successful hospitals and had the privilege of working in several busy, popular AAHA certified practices in Ohio, Montana, Hawaii, Georgia & Virginia. I have focused my career on extensive training in most companion animal species, to include exotic pets and various wildlife. Geriatric and pediatric wellness and preventive care are my secret passions, but I also LOVE to be in surgery and FIX things!!!
I reside in smalltown Central Ohio and spend my free time with my 2 grandchildren ( + twins on the way!) and my family of assorted pets ( 4 cats and THE sweetest little ShihTzu on the planet). I am passionate about providing my clients with the most up to date diagnostic and therapeutic care options available and I am also VERY sensitive to budget restraints and the harsh economic client we have all had to be faced within the past many years. I understand the stress and anxiety of not being able to reach your regular veterinarian after hours or on the weekends, or recognize how hard it is to find a veterinarian that can make recommendations for not only cats and dogs, but birds, reptiles, and assorted small animal exotics. I am here to help my clients make the best informed decisions they can about their pet's healthcare, surgical options, and quality of life decisions, when necessary. I'd like to think my advice and recommendations can only complement your primary veterinarian's care of your pet when they are not available!

Dr. Smith took the time to thoroughly assess my itchy American Bully/pittie and was incredibly patient when my Roxie was nervous and less than cooperative and she answered all my questions. I know she will be getting some relief soon! I love using Vetster but I wish Dr smith was local so I could take Roxie to see her :-)

Within two minutes of starting the appointment, Dr. Smith had what turned out to be the correct diagnosis and impressed upon me the importance of getting my little friend to the hospital quickly. In addition to the appointment, she kept in touch with me and checked in a number of times to make sure he was receiving the care he needed and was on his we to recovery. She is knowledgeable, caring and personable. I recommend her highly.
