About Vet

I am an internship trained veterinarian with over 10 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine. My primary experiences are with small animal medicine (dog and cat) marine mammal medicine, and research. I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my wife, dog, and cat. I have a passion for conservation and research. I strive to always bring my patients the most up-to-date evidenced based medicine available to them. I love taking the time to have in-depth conversations with my clients about their pets' conditions so keep those questions coming! If you like chatting with me and would like to explore all the digital care options I offer, please go check out my digital concierge practice: Cloud Fauna.

As of January 1st, 2024, California legally allows the establishment of a VCPR via telemedicine. That means I am allowed to offer a full diagnosis, prognosis, and, to a limited extent, prescriptions. Your pet MUST BE VISIBLE on camera, and you must be able to manipulate them to show me things upon request. However, unlike you and me communicating with our doctors, your pet cannot tell me where it hurts, and what is wrong. Therefore, telemedicine has limited utility in veterinary medicine. I believe to protect you and your pet; there is no adequate substitute to a physical exam in veterinary medicine. Some ways I can be useful to you and your pet are:

Triage questions - I will review your concerns, offer some potential differential diagnoses (what may be wrong) and offer some advice on likely follow-up. This will likely include a recommendation to see a veterinarian in person, but I can tell you just how urgently that may be necessary.

Some limited, prescription services - Over the counter flea medications tend to suffer from resistance. I can offer prescriptions for better options, some other preventative medicine, refills in some cases, if you can provide existing documentation, and some potential treatments for other minor and/or behavioral conditions. I will also provide guidance for safe use of over-the-counter medications.   A second opinion on patient treatments and recommendations
