About Vet

Dr. Tripp received his doctorate from UC Davis veterinary school, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, and a Minor in Philosophy (Logic and Ethics). He is a member of the ASVAB (American Society of Veterinary Animal Behavior), and certified by the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants). He is the founder of Veterinary Telecommunications Inc. In 2009 he was elected to the AVMA Council of Veterinary Service and served as the subcommittee chair of the Remote Consulting and the Animal Health Information Standards policy review subcommittees. In 2018 he served on the executive board of the Society of Veterinary Medical Ethics.

Dr. Tripp has lectured nationally and internationally at over 100 conferences. He was the featured speaker in Tokyo, Japan, presented a paper at the International Conference on Behavioral Medicine in Birmingham, England and lectured on animal behavior at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. He was the keynote speaker at the CanWest International Veterinary Meeting in 2011 and taught Applied Animal Behavior at 7 national and 1 international Veterinary Schools, often multiple times.

Reviews from his lectures describe him “very practical”, “eye opening”, “the lecture best in 25 years”; including notes from the organization chair, stating his reviews were “outstanding,” “better than excellent,” and often attendees, “wanting him back.” Dr. Tripp has published over 40 articles on dog and cat behavior, is a chapter co-author of the Encyclopedia of Animal Behavior, author of “Pet Perception Management - Socialization and Clinical Behavior Manual,” and co-author of many other publications on dog and cat behavior. He has been featured over 20 times on Animal Planet Network, as well as the ASPCA’s “Animal Watch,” the “Pet World” radio show, and more.

Dr. Tripp is the founder or co-founder of the Pet Happiness Network, Veterinary Future Society, and PsyMed Consulting.
