About Vet

First off, North Carolina does not allow telemedicine as a means for a valid Veterinary Client Patient Relationship, so advice is the most I can help you with. I can NOT prescribe any medication, including antibiotics, pain medication, or other prescription medication, using the Vetster platform. This applies to ALL veterinarians in North Carolina on the Vetster platform. This aspect is confusing to some and I want you to be happy and satisfied with our time together.

I have been practicing in Southeastern NC for over two decades. Originally from Minnesota, I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota and attended North Carolina State University for my veterinary education. I graduated from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.

I have owned my own general practice in Rocky Point NC since 2006. I see dogs, cats, pot bellied pigs, birds, small ruminants (sheep and goats), and horses at my practice. I also have a strong background in veterinary behavior, positive reinforcement training, clicker training, and working/sport dog breeds. I am a nationally recognized animal trainer with Bald Eagles through the non-profit, Cape Fear Raptor Center, that I founded in 2012. I have also trained many home-bred German Shepherd dogs to a national competition level in IPO police dog sport. I have a strong background working with K9 handlers, police departments, and other types of dog sports such as Schutzhund/IPO, agility, and service dogs. In my veterinary practice, I am sought for veterinary behavior consults for aggressive behavior, anxiety, house soiling, separation anxiety, inter-dog aggression, feline behavior and aggression, and bird behavior.

I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and our 2 children. We have lots of dogs, 2 cats, a bunch of birds, and a farm full of eventing, hunter jumper, and dressage horses. When we are not showing horses, or working on our farm, or training Bald Eagles, we also like to fish! Needless to say, we stay busy!

North Carolina does not allow telemedicine as a means for a valid Veterinary Client Patient Relationship, so advice is the most I can help you with, but behaviorally, my advice is very sought after! I cannot, nor do I very often, prescribe medication for behavior modification.
