About Vet

Hello! I am a small animal and exotics veterinarian (dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, small rodents, & reptiles). I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 with a VMD. I graduated in 2019 from the University of Florida with a Master's in Public Health (MPH) and became Certified in Public Health (CPH) in 2020.

I started in general practice with emphases on exotic medicine, internal medicine, behavior, advanced dentistry, infectious diseases/zoonotic diseases (contagious from animals to people), pain management, and nutrition management/obesity prevention. I started doing a combination of general practice and emergency/critical care, then transitioned to full-time emergency and urgent care. However, in 2018-2019, while going back to school, I worked part-time.

COVID-19 and obtaining my MPH shifted my focus. I am now establishing a niche for myself in one health. (The interconnection of animal, human, and environmental health working together towards ultimate global health).

I formed my own company, ELTD One Health Consulting, LLC, recently and after a temporary furlough from veterinary medicine during the beginning of COVID, found myself freelance writing and providing consultation services in various capacities.

So now you wonder, what am I doing on Vetster? While unfulfilled in my career working as a veterinary practitioner and wanting to do work that helped the many and not just the individual, I still love providing individual medical care. Telemedicine offers me the freedom to work from home, to build my consulting business, and yet still help you, the pet owner at home.

These times are difficult; veterinary clinics are slammed. Because clinics are so behind, if your pet has a problem or concern that is addressable in a telemedicine format, then, by all means, let's keep the emergency rooms for true emergencies. Let's schedule appointments for problems that need to be addressed in a clinic.

I hope to hear from you. I will be open and honest with you. If your pet needs to be seen in a clinic, I will tell you. I will want to see your pet and may ask you to show me a few things with him/her.

If you have any questions, though, do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to helping and hearing from you. If you want to know more about me, feel free to check out my Upwork profile at www.upwork.com/fl/eltdonehealthconsultingllc

I currently live outside of Allentown, PA, with my husband, human internal medicine specialist/primary care physician, and my dog, Jasmine AKA Jazzy, a German shepherd, lab mix.
