About Vet

I grew up in Germany and studied Veterinary Medicine at The Veterinary University in Hannover, Germany (Tieraerztliche Hochschule). I graduated with a Veterinary degree in 1997 and worked in Ireland as a mixed practice veterinarian for 8 years. My career as a vet has also brought me to many corners of Europe (Austria, the UK, Germany, Switzerland) and to India where I do continuing education lectures for small animal veterinarians, do animal welfare and locum work and often have the opportunity to be part in wildlife conservation projects.

I emigrated to the US in 2005, and have since been working as a veterinarian for small and large animals and in emergency and critical care, licensed in New Mexico and Colorado. During the past 8 years I have thoroughly enjoyed answering veterinary questions online as well as doing consulting work. My secret love are cows, sheep and goats, so do not hesitate to ask if you have a problem with your livestock.

I breed Icelandic Horses on my ranch in southern Colorado and am also the slave of 4 cats and 18 chickens.
