About Vet

Dr. Hagelund grew up in rural upstate New York. She always had a deep love for animals, however isn't wasn't until she was in her final year of business school (after she spent a summer working for a local animal shelter and got a new bloodhound puppy named Gertrude) that she decided she wanted to change career paths. She was accepted into Midwestern University's College of Veterinary Medicine where she attained her DVM in 2019. After graduating veterinary school she moved back to upstate New York where she has been a busy small animal general practitioner since.

Dr. Hagelund is passionate about holistic wellness and enjoys helping pet parents make informed decisions about nutrition, vaccination, preventatives, and nutraceuticals. Clinically, she has always had a strong interest in oncology and internal medicine. Senior pets are her favorite and likes helping pet parents navigate the challenges that arise during their pet's later years.

Dr. Hagelund currently has one pet of her own - a rambunctious 1-year-old bloodhound named Louise. In her free time, Dr. Hagelund enjoys hiking, yoga, and cooking.
