About Vet

Dr. Silvia do Valle graduated over 30 years ago, having extensive experience in equine and small animal medicine, surgery and rehabilitation. She aims to achieve a balanced animal health condition by integrating natural and holistic therapies. Dr. do Valle truly believes in nutrition and uses it for preventing and curing diseases, as said by Hippocrates, "Let food be thy medicine". She is extremely knowledgeable in herbal medicine and acupuncture, having presented many scientific papers all over the world and written several book chapters. Regardless, if needed a conventional treatment, such as antibiotic or even a steroid, Dr. do Valle can help you understand what is best for your animal.

Dr. do Valle did research at Cornell University for a equine surgery and physiology Master of Sciences degree. She is finishing her second Masters degree by researching Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in performance horses at Chi University.

Growing up, Dr do Valle rode jumpers, competing in national level shows in USA, Brazil and Dominican Republic. She also has helped train thoroughbreds, managed farms and taught riding lessons. At her grandma's ranch, she performed veterinary care for pigs, rabbits and chicken. Whenever she can now, she trains para-equestrian dressage with her Lusitano aiming for LA2028, and shows her dogs as an AKC Breeder of Merit in conformation, agility, rally, obedience, dock diving, coursing and barn hunt.
