About Vet

Dr. Silvia do Valle graduated over 30 years ago, having extensive experience in equine and small animal medicine, surgery and rehabilitation. She aims to achieve a balanced animal health condition by integrating natural techniques and using holistic therapies. Dr. do Valle truly believes in nutrition and uses it for preventing and curing diseases, as said by Hippocrates, "Let food be thy medicine". Dr. do Valle is also extremely knowledgeable in herbal medicine and acupuncture, having presented several scientific papers and written book chapters about the use of Chinese herbals and other alternative medicine modalities. Regardless, sometimes there is a need for a conventional treatment, such as antibiotic or even a steroid, and Dr. do Valle can help you understand what is the best for your animal.

Dr. do Valle has researched about equine surgery and physiology at Cornell University for the Master of Sciences degree. She is finishing her second Masters degree by researching Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at Chi University. In her spare time, she rides her Lusitano in dressage and shows her dogs as an AKC Breeder of Merit
