About Vet

I’ve been a dedicated veterinarian for 15 years, after earning my medical degree from the University of Tennessee. Throughout my career, I’ve worked across the country as both an emergency and general practice relief vet, and I also travel to Caribbean islands to provide life-saving surgeries for local animals. My passion for helping animals is matched only by my love for meeting new pet owners and guiding them through their pets' care journey.

When I’m not practicing medicine, I’m a proud parent to two dogs, a wildlife rehabilitator, and a content creator on YouTube for my popular channel "Wildlife Vet," where I share my experiences and insights.

I’m here to answer any questions you may have about your pets, so don’t hesitate—book now, and let’s talk!

*** If you are looking to start chronic medication’s (for arthritis, behavior, etc.) please don’t book with a telemedicine veterinarian. Bloodwork is required prior to starting medications chronically and requires you to take your pet to the vet for lab work***

A Quick Note Before Your Telemedicine Appointment:

To ensure I can help you to the best of my ability, please take a moment to review the following when scheduling your consultation:

*** When stating the reason for your appointment, please list as much information as you can to help me better serve you. Please describe the problem your pet is having in as much detail as possible (what they are doing, how long it’s been going on, what you’ve tried so far, last time they were at their regular vet). If you can upload some pictures of the problem, that would be great too!

Due to time limitations of the call, please limit your problem list to ONE problem per visit. We can schedule follow-ups for additional problems your pet is experiencing. For example, we can address a skin infection today and anxiety issues at a future visit, etc.

*** PLEASE BE ADVISED if requesting medication REFILLS: With MANY medications, bloodwork and actual physical examinations may be a pre-requisite before prescribing in order to ensure the ultimate safety for your pet - If you are needing a prescription refill or any medication at all, we may not be able to do this unless bloodwork is performed first. This will be on a case by case basis. If you are needing a refill on HEARTWORM preventatives, I will need to see the results to a recent heartworm test that was performed within the last 30 DAYS***

*** Please also be advised, once we discuss your pet's health, in some circumstances we will recommend you go DIRECTLY to a veterinarian if we are concerned - although telemedicine is very convenient, it also has it's limitations in terms of being able to physically treat your animal. We are here more as a professional opinion and can provide you with guidance in questionable situations with your pet. We are here to ease your worries, even if it's as simple as letting you know if a problem can wait until the next day when you can see your regular vet or if It's something serious enough that needs a trip to the ER**

I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet!:)

Dr James was better than anything I could’ve imagined. She’s so patient, kind, and thorough. I’ve been beside myself all day and now I can finally take a deep breath. I’m so unbelievably grateful for her.
