Dr. Shake Chatterjee

Dr. Abhishek 'Shake' Chatterjee was born in Calcutta, India but spent most of his early and formative years in the Western suburbs of Chicago. As an only child, he always felt a special type of kinship towards the dogs he had growing up - considering them far more than pets but rather members of the family. After starting work at an animal hospital at the age of 16 while in high school, he decided his love for animals would also become his career. He went on to earn his Bachelor's at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign followed by his DVM at the University of Minnesota. Practicing since 2014, some of Dr. Chatterjee's favorite specialties include dermatology, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. He is also a firm believer in the importance of wellness visits and screenings, often using the motto 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'.
