About Vet

I've been a veterinarian for 30 years. My medicine is state of the art and always evolves, but my attitudes towards my patients and clients doesn't. I will listen and answer your questions. If I don't have the answer, I'll find someone who does. My interests include preventive medicine (which vaccines does your pet need, and how often), the pros and cons of diagnostic and screening tests, and end-of-life concerns. If you'd like a another set of eyes on your pet's medical record, or on an estimate you've received, I'd be glad to help. My philosophy is that we are partners in your pet's care. Informed consent isn't informed unless someone takes the time to truly educate. I can guarantee you that you and your pet will always be treated with the utmost compassion.

Things that can help:

Take pictures and videos. It’s often helpful to video them and then take screenshots from that if you have a squirmy pet.

Please describe problems with eyes in the best detail you can. “Eye problems” is not all that helpful. If you have concerns that the eye problem may affect future vision, go to your regular vet or to urgent care.

If you want me to look at a skin lesion or anything else, take a picture beforehand and upload it. Take several, in fact, both with and without flash. If your dog or cat has a problem that involves coughing, sneezing, difficulty breathing, a video is quite helpful, as symptoms sometimes magically disappear for the length of the visit. Please feel free to message me a few days after the visit, letting me know how things went. Telemedicine is in its infancy in veterinary medicine, and your feedback will help future patients. Please understand that telemedicine has its limitations. There are conditions that are not amenable to online consults, and in those cases you will need to see an in-person veterinarian.
