About Vet

PLEASE NOTE - Federal law requires all prescriptions be on label and prohibits providing control drugs and compounded products with a relationship solely through a virtual platform. Therefore, this WILL LIMIT THE MEDICATIONS Dr. Pope can prescribe through solely a virtual visit versus an in-person visit. Some medications Dr. Pope can not provide through this platform include but are not limited to; Alprazolam (Xanax), Amitriptyline, Azithromycin, Buspirone, Cipro, Diazepam, Gabapentin, Lorazepam, Paroxetine (Paxil), Phenobarbital, Prozac, Trazadone, and Sertraline (Zoloft). For more information please see below.

Dr. Pope is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. For well over the last 25 years, she has honed her skills in a variety of areas throughout veterinary medicine. A majority of her career has been dedicated to helping pet parents with their dog and cat needs. She has supported the community as a practicing veterinarian and as a leader who developed and supported fellow veterinary professionals. She is licensed in California, New Jersey, and Virginia. Dr. Pope will only see clients and pets that are within the states she is licensed. In 2015, she founded 1 Life Connected, with a mission to support fellow veterinary professionals and their well-being.

Dr. Pope strives to partner with clients to help navigate the various aspects of their pet’s medical care. Her areas of expertise are preventative medicine, skin allergy maintenance, skin and ear disease, and muscular-skeletal ailments concerns. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the world and spending time outdoors hiking, gardening, and bird watching. She shares her home with her husband and their multiple furry and feathered friends; 2 tuxedo cats (Graciebird and Rainier), 2 French Bulldogs (Dempsey and Jack), 1 thoroughbred horse (Drake), and Maui, the greater sulfur cockatoo - who has been her close companion for almost 30 years.

Please Note About Virtual Care Each state has their own governing board that determines what is allowed through virtual veterinary care. All states allow education discussions with clients, to help in triaging or understanding a situation related to their pet. A number of states do not allow a veterinarian to diagnose or prescribe medications solely through the virtual platform without a related IN PERSON relationship with that specific veterinarian within the last year. States in which Dr. Pope holds a license that do not allow prescriptions through this platform include, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Michigan and for this reason Dr. Pope does not see patients through this platform in those states.

In addition as noted above, federal law requires that all prescriptions provided through a virtual platform, where there has only been virtual contact with the pet, must be on label. Federal law also prohibits providing control drugs with a relationship solely through a virtual platform. Therefore, this will limit the medications Dr. Pope can prescribe through solely a virtual visit versus an in-person visit. If you have any questions related to this, please feel free to ask Dr. Pope.

Doc asked very pertinent questions and listened to my dog's history. Our pet has extreme aversion to being touch by strangers in the vet's office. He needs to be restrained and muzzled to do a simple exam. This was a perfect option for our dog. This Doctor nailed it quickly and effectively.

This vet was so great - she spent so much time going into deep detail about my dogs issues and overall care as I have a sensitive pup with potential allergies and other issues
