Hello Pet Parents!
A little about me: I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic where I also went to veterinary school. With both of my parents being veterinarians, managing their own hospitals and founding an equine therapy center for children with mental disabilities, I feel as I have been in this profession my entire life! I moved to San Diego in 2015 to complete a multi-disciplinary internship and have been practicing in California ever since!
Currently, I am an urgent care veterinarian – I can help you triage your pet to determine if its a serious concern and how soon your baby should get seen. Additionally, I am fear-free certified with extensive experience in general practice/preventative, internal, and emergency medicines.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While it is illegal for veterinarians in California to diagnose and prescribe medications without having physically examined the patient beforehand, I can still help you navigate your pet's health and wellbeing as well as answer all your questions and concerns. I can provide tele-advice and suggestions for over the counter supplements or medications when they may be suitable.
So what can I do for you?! Below are just a few examples on what types of consultations I can provide: -Tele triage: does my pet need to be seen today through the ER or can it wait to see his primary doctor? Examples: chocolate ingestion, red paws, hot spot, diarrhea, not eating, vomiting, sneezing.
-Second opinion consultations: my pet was just diagnosed with a medical condition, what does it mean for his life expectancy and quality of life?
-Client education: my pet is on a new medication, what can I expect?..My cat is urinating outside the box, what could this mean?.. We just got a new puppy, whats next?!
-Quality of Life Assessment: I can aid you in objectively evaluating your pet's quality of life to help make that difficult decision many of us as pet parents have to make at some point.
-Tips and Tricks on: how to medicate your pet, how to transport your fearful pet to the veterinarian, how to make the vet visit more pleasant for your pet, traveling with your pet on a plane, etc.
If you do schedule a consultation for any type of wound, trauma, skin issue or external body concern please send close-up pictures with good lighting at the time of scheduling the appt.
