About Vet

I have been a practicing veterinarian for over 20 years. I am originally from the New Orleans area, so you MIGHT hear a slight accent, as well as the occasional WHO DAT and GEAUX TIGERS! My husband and I currently have the “TWO’s”: 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 horses and 2 chinchillas. The 2 chins, “Arya” and “Peanut Baelish”, have big shoes to fill: my “Stinkerbelle” lived to be 25 yrs old, and my other 3 were either 17 or 18 yrs when they passed on. On the personal front, I love to travel - especially adventure travel. I try to combine my vacation with my continuing education; as a result, I’ve heard lectures while white-water rafting on the Futaleufu River in Chile, as well as climbing both Mt. Kilimanjaro and to the Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan. I worked as a stunt woman in Hollywood prior to becoming a veterinarian so I’ll take the adventure travel as long as my body allows it! I love my job and helping people with their animals. It can be very sad at times, but also very rewarding. I am glad to be a part of Vetster!

Dr. Holcomb walked me through potential diagnoses and treatments for my regular vet to consider when I am able to get to a future appointment. Meanwhile, she advised me on how to care for my dog at home to make both of us more comfortable until we can see my regular vet in person. She not only dealt with the current problem of recurrent diarrhea, but she gave me some things to consider to protect the health of my dog longer term, once he is feeling better. She made clear that she understood that my dog is a working breed, and therefore his diagnosis and treatment need to meet his needs to recover quickly, eat normally, and get back to his active life quickly.
