About Vet

Hi, and welcome to a whole new world of veterinary medicine! Telehealth/telemedicine is new to me but I'm very excited about a new way to hopefully help pets in a less stressful way. The majority of my career I've worked as an emergency veterinarian for 24 hour specialty/referral veterinary hospitals. While I really appreciated having constant access to specialists, advanced diagnostics, and being able to practice top level medicine the long variable hours and stress of the job were overwhelming at times. So a couple of years ago I switched over to general practice and now I predominantly do relief work (basically travel to various veterinary hospitals and fill in on an as needed basis). I believe my varied background has helped me become a very well rounded veterinarian that can offer many different viewpoints and options. I also recently became certified in hospice and palliative care, which is something I think is greatly lacking in veterinary medicine. In veterinary school we are taught how to diagnose and treat diseases, but many times real life isn't that simple and I hope to be able to offer alternatives to clients that elect not to pursue traditional/textbook treatment or want to make sure their pets have the best quality of life for as long as possible, no matter what their underlying disease is.

The following is a brief summary of my credentials: -BS, North Carolina State University -DVM, Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine -Rotating Small Animal Internship Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital -Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian
