About Vet

I've spent most of my life in Arizona but am originally from Illinois. I've always been passionate about helping animals and pursued my dream of becoming a veterinarian by attending The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh in Scotland where I graduated in 2013. My time spent in Scotland was an absolute eye opening experience and I learned so much! I've spent years of dedication in this profession by providing compassionate care to all of my patients. I am a medical director of my own hospital with a company I've worked with for almost 10 years now and love the people I work with and all the pets I see every day!

In addition to having a heavy interest in dentistry, I enjoy keeping up-to-date with the latest research and treatments in veterinary medicine. In addition to my professional work, I love spending time with my family and I always strive to be a loving father and husband and love spending time with my wife, two beautiful (and wild) kids and my quirky dog named Maple!

I have a wealth of knowledge that, through my education and years of experience, am able to pass on to you by helping you with any questions you have about your pet(s). I look forward to talking to you! Plus, if you book an appointment with me I will honor the telemedicine appointment at my hospital with 50% off the initial in-person examination!

I am fortunate enough that I get to take my dogs to Dr. Fonza in person. It’s a bit of a drive, but the care he provides is so worth it. Really glad he’s started offering telemed appointments. It gives us a way to connect before or instead of making the journey to his office. Would definitely recommend him to anyone! Honest, trustworthy, and always patient with any and all questions.
