About Vet

Dr. Buttry (previously Dr. McCarthy) was raised in Wildwood, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. She attended St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC where she got her BA with a major in Equine Business and minor in Biology. She then went to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. After graduating in 2012, she moved to northern Virginia where she began practicing general and emergency small animal medicine. Dr. Buttry enjoys preventative care, diagnostic imaging (especially ultrasound!), and clinical pathology. She is also passionate about hospice/palliative care and rescue outreach. Dr. Buttry is an avid equestrian in the sport of three day eventing. When she’s not working, Dr. Buttry can usually be found on the farm riding horses or spending time with her husband, kids, and furry family members.

This vet was amazing and thorough. My dog suffers from chronic ear infections and bad skin irritations. The vet made absolutely sure she covered all bases and gave me several options to try to come up with a solution to give my dog some relief. I would highly recommend vetster every experience I have had with this app has been positive and my dog gets the proper care she needed.
