About Vet

Dr. Amari was born and raised in Ithaca NY, only a few miles from the Cornell Veterinary School – so some might say she was destined to be a veterinarian. She attended Bucknell University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Behavior. She then returned to her hometown and fulfilled her dream of becoming a veterinarian, gaining her veterinary degree from Cornell University Veterinary School.

After graduating, Amari moved to Northern Virginia to begin her career as a small animal veterinarian. Her deep passion for strengthening the human animal bond led her to become Fear Free Certified and guides how she practices medicine. She is also a Category 1 USDA accredited veterinarian. While she enjoys all aspects of general practice, Amari’s particular interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, palliative care and surgery.

Our elderly dog needed a quick appointment to discuss some eye discharge and a plan of action, including a plan b and c. Great appointment, clear directions, so grateful we got to see this doc.

Thank you, it's been difficult to get care for my dog, who is elderly and in fragile health. It's also been difficult to find someone who understands nothing has to be perfect but that I just need to do my best with where we are.

My fur baby is having the toughest battle with fleas at the moment and tries everything possible to get rid of them. Dr. Amari was very sincere, genuine and concerned all while being up very valid points. It didn’t dawn on me that fleas can transport on to our clothes and travels everywhere. Great info great Dr.!

Dr Anderson was attentive and thoughtful - walking us through a comprehensive exam of our pup. It’s hard to get veterinary care while we travel - but this was so reassuring.
