About Vet

Dr. Amari was born and raised in Ithaca NY, only a few miles from the Cornell Veterinary School – so some might say she was destined to be a veterinarian. She attended Bucknell University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Behavior. She then returned to her hometown and fulfilled her dream of becoming a veterinarian, gaining her veterinary degree from Cornell University Veterinary School.

After graduating, Amari moved to Northern Virginia to begin her career as a small animal veterinarian. Her deep passion for strengthening the human animal bond led her to become Fear Free Certified and guides how she practices medicine. She is also a Category 1 USDA accredited veterinarian. While she enjoys all aspects of general practice, Amari’s particular interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, palliative care and surgery.

Dr Anderson was attentive and thoughtful - walking us through a comprehensive exam of our pup. It’s hard to get veterinary care while we travel - but this was so reassuring.

I'min a new city and needed help getting my dog adjusted to a new apartment and situation post-divorce, which generated a lot of anxiety. Dr. Anderson offered several good pieces of advice to try, along with a prescription to help Milo with his adjustment period. Very professional, kind, and thoughtful doctor.

This was my first experience using Vetster. Dr. Anderson was thorough and very helpful. My vet wasn’t able to accommodate an appointment before next week. Now we can get our puppy feeling better!
