About Vet

I'm Dr. Barland, and I've been practicing as a veterinarian for over a decade now, specializing in small animal medicine and surgery. My journey into this field began with a deep-seated love for animals, a passion that has guided me throughout my life.

I started my formal education at St. Matthew's University, where I laid the foundation for my veterinary career. It was a rigorous path, filled with countless hours of study and hands-on experience. But every moment spent there was a step closer to realizing my dream of caring for animals.

My thirst for knowledge led me to the prestigious University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine, where I further honed my skills. The academic challenges and clinical exposure there were demanding, but they were also instrumental in shaping me into the veterinarian I am today.

Beyond my work in the clinic, I have a world outside of medicine that brings me immense joy. I'm an enthusiastic traveler, always eager to explore new places and cultures. Reading is another passion of mine; there's something magical about getting lost in the pages of a good book. I'm also an aspiring cook and baker, finding solace and creativity in the kitchen.

One of my greatest sources of happiness is my garden, where I can escape the stresses of the day and connect with the natural world. But the most cherished moments are those spent with my loving husband, our two wonderful children, and our beloved Brussels Griffon, Cricket. Their unwavering support and love have been my anchor throughout this journey.

As the years have passed, my career has continued to thrive. It's not just a job; it's a vocation born out of my deep passion for animal welfare. Every day, I'm reminded of the importance of the work we do, ensuring the health and happiness of our furry companions.
