About Vet

Howdy!

My name is Alex, I am a mixed animal veterinarian originally from Texas. I have had the joy of being able to live in some really amazing places growing up. I spent some time in Germany before going to veterinary school at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Science in Scotland. I am now practicing between Texas and the UK.

I work with all species including, extensive experience working with horses all around the world, a wide array of small animal medicine and surgery, and even some of our more exotic pets. I am passionate about preventative medicine to keep your pets healthier longer and try to minimize the chances of disease which may be avoided. I will never say no to a challenge, be it a horse or hamster. Thank you for the consideration in trusting me with your beloved furry friends.

IMPORTANT INFO: Texas law does not allow vets to prescribe medication over telemedicine calls unless the vet has seen you and your pet in person to form what is called a VCPR (vet client patient relationship). I am here to provide first or second opinions, whether or not your pet needs to see an immediate vet or can wait and what options are available. I am also able to talk through any questions and concerns related to your pets health and formulate plans for preventative health checks.

App is misleading if we are unable to have meds prescribed for our fur babies. Whole point of me making the virtual appt was because it’s a Sunday and I can’t get into my vet today but this isn’t serious enough to warrant a trip to the vet ER. Dr. Alex Whitman was great though!
