Dr. Alejandro Martinez

Dr. Alejandro Martinez received his B.S. in Animal Bioscience with a minor in wildlife sciences, from Penn State University in 2007. He graduated with honors from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine obtaining his DVM in 2011. While at St. George’s University, Dr. Martinez had in depth studies on Wildlife medicine. He pursued his clinical year training at The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia from 2010 to 2011. Following graduation from Veterinary School, Dr. Martinez completed a rotating internship in general medicine and surgery at the Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialist in New York City. After his internship, Dr. Martinez moved back to the Philadelphia area to practice emergency medicine; he was also active volunteering for the Humane Society of Berks County. Since 2013, Dr. Martinez has worked at VCA Metzger Animal Hospital practicing Emergency medicine and general practice. His medical interest includes emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and exotics. Dr. Martinez resides in the State College area with his son Matthew and his yellow lab Storm and poodle Chewy His outside interests include wildlife medicine/rehabilitation, bird watching, hiking, and traveling.
