About Vet

Mathew has spent the last five years working full-time throughout the western GTA as a small animal general practitioner. He spent four years as a full time associate in a large, busy general practice and he currently works as a locum seeing general wellness appointments, same-day urgent/emergent appointments, chronic complex cases, in addition to surgical and dental cases. He takes a keen interest in developing and novel technologies in the field. Mathew's interests are diverse and include minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic surgery), endoscopy (flexible/rigid minimally invasive procedures), emergency care, geriatric and palliative care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, general wellness, behaviour, nutrition, feline infectious peritonitis diagnosis and developing/novel treatments, dermatology, allergic skin disease, and much more. Mathew's practice is focused on canine and feline medicine. He began working in large, well-equipped multi-veterinarian practices at the age of 12 and has been active in the veterinary community since childhood. From a very early age Mathew had decided he would pursue a career in veterinary medicine due to his close bond with his childhood pets (dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish). Early in life he understood the importance of proper monitoring and management of chronic disease from his own experience with his pets that suffered from varying ailments including idiopathic epilepsy, hypothyroidism, acute toxin ingestion, gastrointestinal obstructions, chronic kidney disease, and much more.
