Dr. Melinda Lopez

I am a small animal emergency vet based in Whistler, BC. I have more than 10 years of experience as a veterinarian, mostly in the vet ER treating very sick and injured cats and dogs. I am skilled in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency medicine. Before focusing primarily on emergency, I worked in small animal general practice for about 3 years.

I run a free educational podcast (Twin Trees Vet Talk), where we answer vet questions from owners. I also offer a free online Pet First Aid course, where we teach pet parents ways to prevent emergencies, to be prepared for emergencies and how keep their pets safe You can find both at twintreesvet.com.

When I am not busy helping animals, I can usually be found hiking, skiing, and mountain biking. I love all animals and the planet, and I have become more and more passionate about sustainability over the years.
