Dr. Courtney Burstein

Hello! I studied Health Sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I was the gold medalist for the Faculty of Science. I then graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2019 and was awarded the Gus Lagerquist Five “V” Prize for building class unity and teamwork; focusing on helping others, and having the desire and ability to advance the veterinary profession. Following graduation, I completed a rigorous small animal rotating internship in emergency, internal medicine and surgery, where I gained crucial skills working in a fast-paced environment and was able to learn from specialists. I then began practicing at a busy small animal general practice clinic, where I have managed a variety of cases, ranging from new puppies and kittens, surgeries, sick appointments, behaviour consultations to palliative/geriatric care.

My professional interests include internal medicine, behaviour, palliative care and pain management, and minimizing animal stress at veterinary visits. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, scuba diving, and skydiving, and spending time at my family cottage with my family and two kitties, Hall and Oates.
