About Vet

I am a small animal veterinarian based on Vancouver Island, BC. I graduated from Murdoch University in beautiful Western Australia in 2015, and started my veterinary career in the UK before moving (back) to Canada in 2020.

Although there are limitations compared to an in-person visit, I recognise that there is an important place for telemedicine in the veterinary world to improve access to animal health care. It might be that you have a geographical or physical impediment that makes travelling to a clinic difficult. Or perhaps your regular vet is closed and you are trying to figure out if you need to go to the nearest urgent care hospital - which might not be near at all. I'm here to help!

I am a big believer that there are many ways to approach each health concern, and that there is always SOMETHING that can be done to ease suffering, no matter the budget. The goal will always be to try to improve your pets health and comfort, within your emotional and financial comfort zone.

Of course there will come a time when certain limits are met, so I am also here to discuss how to assess your pet's quality of life, options for palliative care, and to help you to navigate the sometimes muddy waters of end-of-life decision making. This is a passion area of mine, because it is a place we will get to eventually, in every pet's life... so we may as well work together to make sure the whole process is as kind and well-timed as possible, for both you and your pet.

TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT please provide answers to the following questions, when filling out your booking request form:

  1. What is your primary concern and reason for booking today?
  2. How long ago did this problem start? Has it happened before?
  3. Have any treatments been tried for this problem already? What was the response?
  4. Is your pet on any current medications? Please include all current and recent prescriptions, over-the-counter medications or supplements, as well as any flea/tick products and dewormers, and when they were last given.
  5. What is your pet's current diet? Please include details about their main food and how long they've been on it, as well as any additional treats or table scraps etc.
  6. When was your pet last physically seen by a veterinarian, and did they have any particular concerns?
  7. What is your preferred pharmacy? Please provide the address, telephone number, and fax number.

It would be MUCH appreciated if you are also able to upload your pet's medical records to the Vetster Platform. If this isn't possible, please provide relevant/recent history. As video images are not always very clear, if there is anything important for me to see clearly, please take some time to take and upload clear photos, of anything relevant to the appointment - this will all help to streamline our appointment and make the best use of our 30mins.

I look forward to e-meeting you!

DISCLAIMER: Virtual appointments are not designed for complex or non-routine medical care, especially for problems that might require the relating of extensive history information or a thorough physical exam. I will do my best to provide solutions within the scope of a virtual appointment, but the decision to use this service in place of an in-person visit is ultimately the responsible of you, the pet-owner.
