Dr. Candice Chiu

Hello, I am Dr. Candice. I'm a dog mom first and a veterinarian second. I have worked as a relief veterinarian in numerous GTA and Southern Ontario practices since 2010. Having had two large breed dogs with paralyzing diseases, I have a soft spot for patients with mobility issues and their families. Diagnosing patients and handing out medication is one thing, but managing chronic diseases daily at home is a full-time job. I am a certified veterinary acupuncturist, and I plan to continue my studies focusing on rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine, etc, in the future.

When I am not busy rehabbing with my 11-year-old Kuvasz, I can be found dangling from aerial silks or flying with my acro-yoga instructor.

I will try my best to help you and your pet and give you my professional recommendation based on the history and clinical signs you share. We can also discuss prescription if it is considered appropriate given your unique circumstances.

Please be aware that virtual consultations do have certain limitations. I will help you determine whether your pets need be seen by a veterinarian in person and what type of diagnostic steps and treatment may be required. I would also happy to offer second opinions should you have any question with the information your family veterinarian provided.
