Dr. Tess McGarvey

I am a small animal veterinarian with focus on canine and feline medicine located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I obtained my BSc in Biological Sciences and Psychology from the University of Alberta and my DVM from the University of Calgary. I have a particular interest in debunking many of the internet’s often false claims on “how best to care for your pet.” There is so much misinformation out there, so please ask any questions you may have. Of particular interest to me, are nutrition (what to feed and what not to feed, common links between certain diets and heart disease, food allergy management, and more), puppy training and preparedness, benefits and costs of pet insurance and wellness plans, weight loss/management plans and body condition scoring at home, how to manage mobility concerns both short and long term (such as osteoarthritis, torn cruciate ligaments and more), how to best care for your senior/geriatric pet to ensure a long, happy, and pain free life, and much more!
