About Vet

I am an RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon with extensive experience in both small animal and exotic animal medicine. I work confidently with dogs and cats in first-opinion practice, providing clear, practical guidance, triage advice and client-focused care. I hold two postgraduate qualifications in exotic animal medicine (GPCert(ExAP) and PgC) and have worked in a UK exotics referral clinic, managing first- and second-opinion cases across a wide range of species. In addition, I previously worked as a wildlife veterinarian in Costa Rica, where I treated birds, reptiles, mammals and other wildlife in a busy rescue and rehabilitation setting. These roles strengthened my diagnostic skills, adaptability and ability to make sound clinical decisions, often with limited resources.

Alongside my clinical career, I have over 20 years of personal, hands-on experience keeping and breeding exotic animals. My experience includes rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas, cockatiels and other birds, as well as a wide variety of reptiles, amphibians, fish and arthropods. This long-term husbandry background gives me a deep practical understanding of enclosure design, nutrition, lighting, temperature and environmental needs. As inappropriate husbandry is a leading cause of illness in exotic pets, this knowledge is particularly valuable in an online consultation setting.

In addition to my veterinary work, I have recently established an oddity art business, through which I create ethically sourced art and offer a range of bespoke pet memorials. This work reflects my deep respect for the human–animal bond and has further strengthened my empathy and communication with pet owners, particularly during sensitive or emotional consultations.

My aim is to provide clear, evidence-based and compassionate advice that supports both pets and their owners, helping them make informed decisions with confidence.
